Rapidly becoming a captivating force on American stages, emerging baritone Nolan Brown most recently made his role debuts as The Hunter/Gamekeeper (Rusalka) and Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) in Opera Arlington’s inaugural season. His other recent credits include Odysseus in the world premiere of Rachel Lanik Whelan’s opera, Stateside; Aeneas (Dido and Aeneas); Joe Harland (Later the Same Evening); Enrico (Lucia di  Lammermoor); and Yamadori (cover) in Madama Butterfly. In 2017, Mr. Brown was involved in Des Moines Metro Opera’s Emmy award-winning production of Billy Budd.

In the concert hall, Nolan’s most recent engagements include the soloist in Fauré’s Requiem and “Written in Britain and Ireland,” which featured Joan Trimble’s rarely performed song cycle, The County Mayo. Other notable works include Ravel’s Don Quichotte à Dulcinée, Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder, and Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs.

Mr. Brown received his Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of North Texas in 2022, where he studied with renowned American soprano, Molly Fillmore . He previously obtained his Bachelor of Music degree from Iowa State University in 2019.
